a warm welcome from Julia, bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist in the Twin Cities, MN
I hope people feel seen, welcomed, and safe being themselves, especially during messy or uncertain moments. I want them to know that therapy can be warm, curious, and collaborative. I offer therapy in English and Spanish.
What shapes how I show up
I offer honesty and a space to exhale, shaped by my own lived experiences growing up in a mixed-status Mexican immigrant household, navigating life as a neurodivergent person, and being the first in my family to pursue higher education. I know what it’s like to feel unseen, to be asked to adapt in ways that cost pieces of yourself.
Who I support
I often support people navigating intergenerational trauma, religious trauma, heightened emotional intensity, and relationship difficulties, especially for those who have felt “too much” or “not enough”. I support individuals experiencing obsessive compulsive disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder, and making space for individuals to find ways to better understand themselves, their relationships with others, and the world around them. I am also a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist in the Twin Cities, MN.
How we might work together
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore the many parts of us that show up in response to pain, as well as CBT, ICBT, and somatic mindfulness to build practical tools for managing distress. I also use Brainspotting to support trauma work. My approaches seek to resource you in building understanding, regulation, and self-compassion.
What people say about working with me
They describe my presence as calm, gentle, and curious, and that I co-create a space that feels collaborative and grounded. They share that they appreciate that I follow up on what matters to them and remember their interests and life goals.
A little more about me
I learned from a young age about the pressure of trying to carry a family forward, the loss of connection to cultural roots, and the need to reclaim joy and rest. My own healing and community connections remind me that therapy is about creating space where we can be more fully ourselves.
Outside of work, I love playing guitar, going on walks, or enjoying a really great cup of coffee or tea. To recharge, I'm thrifting, watching horror movies, or going to heavy metal or alt concerts
A gentle invitation
If anything here resonated with you, that matters. Taking the first step toward support can feel like a lot, and there's no pressure to have it all figured out before you reach out.
