Director of Training and Clinical Supervision
The Director of Training and Clinical Supervision will oversee the development, implementation, and growth of the training and clinical supervision program at MindBalance Mental Health Care. This role is a 3 year funded position in part by a grant from both state and federal funds, which aims to increase the number of licensed mental health professionals from cultural and ethnic minority groups. The grant supports the development of a culturally responsive and diverse mental health workforce by providing clinical supervision, licensure support, and training.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Development

Lead the development and expansion of the internship and associate licensure program.

Build partnerships with universities, graduate programs, and community mental health organizations.

Ensure the program aligns with the organization's mission to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.
Clinical Supervision

Provide individual and group supervision for up to four pre-licensed clinicians and up to four interns annually.

Offer culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive supervision practices.

Support the professional development and licensure preparation of supervisees.
Training and Continuing Education

Develop and deliver quarterly training on culturally responsive care, trauma-informed practice, and anti-oppressive techniques.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to offer relevant and impactful training to the community.

Apply for Continuing Education provider status with the MN Board of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy to offer continuing education credits.
Program Administration

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the training program.

Track program metrics and report on progress toward licensure and training goals, as well as the deliverables outlined in the state grant contract.

Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term program growth and sustainability strategies.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Actively foster an inclusive and supportive environment for supervisees and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Work to reduce barriers for individuals from cultural and ethnic minority groups to become licensed mental health professionals and supervisors.

Ensure that all training and supervision practices are culturally competent and promote equity.
Mentorship and Professional Development

Serve as a mentor and guide to pre-licensed clinicians and interns.

Provide leadership and support to the team, creating an environment that encourages learning and growth.

Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in mental health care, supervision, and training.
Clinical Services

Maintain a small caseload of at least six clients per week, providing direct clinical services that align with anti-oppressive and holistic care.
Qualifications

Licensure: Must hold an active and unrestricted license as a mental health professional in Minnesota.

Supervision Certification: Must be an approved Board Certified Clinical Supervisor.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical supervision, program development, or related leadership roles.

Cultural Competency: Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive care.

Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Preferred: Experience working with diverse communities and supervising individuals from cultural and ethnic minority groups.
