Hi, I’m Aryka (pronounced like Erica)!

I believe that people can overcome their hardships and challenges. Whether planned or unplanned, transitions and life experiences can throw a curve ball in our daily lives. I am here to assist you through the complexities of life and the bettering of your mental health.

My Story

As a Black and Native American therapist, I am very passionate about working with underrepresented communities and BIPOC individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I inherently understand that the BIPOC lived experience can be quite different from dominant identities around us. I firmly believe that having representation and mental health support from fellow BIPOC individuals is vital for overall well-being.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is to help you define your goals, challenges, feelings and emotions; while also feeling heard and respected through a collaborative, warm, engaging and affirming environment. Together we will build confidence and a plan to overcome life’s challenges.

I believe through collaboration we can start addressing your stressors, whether they be from trauma, anxiety or depression. Understanding your needs and desires will be an integral part of our rapport building and navigation toward reaching your goals.

Our Work Together

I specialize in guiding therapy participants through the pivotal transitions of life - from the shift into young adulthood to the complexities of establishing a career, evolving friendships, and navigating the unique pressures of family and society. Whether you are managing the newfound responsibilities of adulthood or the specific challenges of motherhood, I provide a supportive space to address the anxiety, depression, and PTSD that often accompany these changes.

I also have extensive experience helping therapy participants navigate the intersection of mental health and substance misuse. By integrating therapeutic support with practical relapse prevention, we will work toward your specific goals.

Together, we’ll build a personalized toolkit of coping skills you can use every day to not just get by, but to feel truly in control of your life and confident in your future.

Opening up to a neutral individual and starting this journey of self-care and preservation can feel intimidating and challenging.

I am here to assist you along the way to find what works best for you.

If you are looking to start in a non-judgmental warm environment to identify and meet your needs and wants, I’d love to work with you.

This donation will be made by May 1st each year. We strive to support Indigenous sovereignty, equity, and community efforts in meaningful ways.
