Seeking to empower the Adoptee community in restoring wholeness & healing

At MindBalance Mental Health Care, we are dedicated to supporting the unique needs of the adoptee community. We understand that adoptees often face distinct challenges related to identity, belonging, and family dynamics, and culturally competent care is vital for effective therapy. Without this, adoptees may struggle to find support that truly acknowledges their experiences and the emotional complexities of adoption.

Our services are designed to address these specific needs by offering therapy that respects and integrates the experiences of adoptees. We provide support that acknowledges adoption-related issues such as identity formation, family relationships, trauma, and cultural connections. We create supportive spaces for processing grief and loss related to adoption. We recognize that adoption is not a single event but a lifelong experience. Our approach ensures that therapy is both affirming and empowering, aimed at improving mental health and overall well-being by creating a space where adoptees feel understood and valued.

We respectfully acknowledge that our business is located on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ people, particularly the Wahpekute Band. We honor their enduring relationship with the land and pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We recognize that this land acknowledgment is just a first step in addressing the history of colonization and its lasting impacts on Indigenous communities. As part of our commitment, we will be donating 1% of any profits from the previous year to the Native Governance Center, an organization dedicated to strengthening Native leadership and supporting Native self-governance. This donation will be made by February 1st each year. We strive to support Indigenous sovereignty, equity, and community efforts in meaningful ways.
