Hello, I'm Alex!

(he/him/his)

My name is Alex, and I have a passion for navigating the struggles and challenges of life that we face every day.  Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or indecisive about which direction to take, I am here to navigate this with you.

Some identities that are important to me to share with you include adoptee, LGBTQIA, addiction, musician, and mindfulness.

Our work together

Through us working together, we can expect that you’ll gain a deeper sense of how substances impact the relationship you have with yourself and others.  We can expect that your confidence will grow as we navigate the challenges you face daily.  I am here to support your journey as we move forward with mindfulness and confidence.

My Story

As an international adoptee, a person with addiction, and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand first hand the importance of wanting to belong and feel validated.  My goal is to create a space in which you feel the same.

In my free time I most enjoy being outdoors in nature. I am a year round cyclist, and I absolutely love the winter. I enjoy also watching documentaries, watching horror movies with my cat, and reading a mixture of fiction/non-fiction books when at home. I play the drums, guitar, and bass guitar with my friends and family.

Therapy Approach

My approach to therapy comes from a space of partnership.  I believe that you and I can create a space in which you can feel comfortable sharing your concerns and struggles.  Therapy to me is about feeling safe with another person, and this creates opportunity for growth and self-exploration.  I am curious about how your strengths and aspirations guide you through challenges, and I look forward to being a part of your journey.

I specialize in navigating identity and trauma within the adoption population, working through the struggles of addiction and substance use, and finding a balance with college and personal life.  Many of my clients come to me feeling like their trauma shows up in the relationships they encounter, and they often state how their substance use impacts other priorities in their lives.

Taking the first step to see a therapist can be scary, and I am here to applaud you for taking that big step.  If you are ready to start, know that I am looking forward to hearing from you.
